Avastin

AvastinAvastin, the product name for Bevacizumab, was first approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2004 as a treatment for certain types of cancers. Specifically, Avastin has been used during chemotherapy to slow the growth of new blood vessels. Its initial use was in the treatment of colon cancer, but it has since been approved for treatment of lung, renal, ovarian and certain types of brain cancers.

Medical professionals have expressed concerns that Avastin, because it inhibits growth of blood cells, may prevent the body from engaging in natural healing processes. Studies have also shown that Avastin may lead to high blood pressure and increased risk of uncontrolled bleeding. Excessive fatigue and increased risk of infection have also been documented.

If you or someone you love has suffered injury after being prescribed Avastin, GetLegal has the tools and resources to help you find skilled legal representation to protect your rights. Visit our attorney directory, look for your geographic location and find the best lawyer for your situation.
