If you become injured while on a cruise, the first thing you should do is carefully review your cruise passenger ticket. Almost all passenger tickets place severe limits on your rights to bring a claim against the cruise lines. Generally, you must notify the cruise line of your injury within six months from the incident. You should do this by certified mail with a return receipt requested, keeping a copy of the letter sent. In addition, the passenger ticket most likely requires that you file suit against the cruise line no more than a year from the date of the accident.
