Azathioprine

Azathioprine, sold under the brand name Imuran, is a drug commonly used during organ transplants and to treat autoimmune diseases. First developed and a cancer drug in the 1950s, it is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and a number of skin conditions, including eczema.

Studies show that it’s not uncommon for users to experience nausea and vomiting, particularly when they first start using Azathioprine. Other side effects including dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea and skin rashes, as well as greater susceptibility to infection. Acute pancreatitis has been reported as well, particularly with patients with Crohn’s disease.
