Clozaril

Clozaril, the market name for Clozapine, is an antipsychotic drug prescribed for persons diagnosed with schizophrenia, and has been typically used only with patients who have not responded well to other antipsychotic medications. The product was first synthesized in 1961 and was introduced to the market in West Germany and Finland in 1975, but recalled after a number of users died.

Clozapine has been tied to a number of adverse health consequences. Research has shown that the drug can inhibit the production of white blood cells, a situation that may be fatal. Other side effects that have been reported include high blood sugar, seizures, inflammation around the heart, dizziness, vision problems and drowsiness. Approximately one in every 20 patients using the drug have been diagnosed with tardive dyskinesia, a permanent movement disorder.

If you or someone you love has suffered injury after taking Clozaril, GetLegal has the tools and resources to help you find skilled legal representation to protect your rights. Visit our attorney directory, look for your geographic location and find the best lawyer for your situation.
