Invokana

If you have been diagnosed with adult-onset, or type 2, diabetes, chances are good that you have been prescribed Canagliflozin, sold under the trade names Invokana or Sulisent. Invokana, marketed by Janssen, a division of Johnson & Johnson, is supposed to improve sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. The product was approved for sale in the United States in March, 2013.

According to the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA), though, Invokana has been linkedto a wide range of health issues, from low blood sugar and extreme dehydration to loss of consciousness and allergic reactions. Some Invokana users have reported broken bones, pancreatitis, loss of bone density and kidney disease. The FDA also acknowledges that Invokana may increase risk of urinary tract infections and elevated cholesterol levels, as well as diabetic ketoacidosis, a potentially life-threatening condition.

If you or someone you love has suffered adverse health events after using Invokana, GetLegal has the tools and resources to help you find skilled legal representation to protect your rights. Visit our attorney directory, look for your geographic location and find the best lawyer for your situation.
