Avodart

AvodartDutasteride, sold under the brand name Avodart, is a prescription drug manufactured and marketed by GlaxoSmithKline to treat enlargement of the prostate. Studies have shown that treatment with Avodart can reduce the overall risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Avodart has also been linked to a number of adverse side effects. In approximately 10% of persons using the drug, there are increased rates of sexual dysfunction, as well as a decrease in sexual desire. Some users have reported these conditions continuing even after suspending use of Avodart. There is also some evidence to indicate that, in some patients, Avodart can increase the risk of prostate cancer.
