Granuflo is a powdered concentrate (in its liquid form, it’s known as NaturaLyte) used in dialysis to neutralize excess acid that accumulates when kidneys can no longer filter the acid out of the blood. Granuflo was first approved for sale in the United States in 2003.

During the dialysis process, Granuflo causes a chemical reaction in the liver, converting acidic substances into bicarbonates.
